IRA BERNSTEIN is one of the most versatile and accomplished performers of percussive clog, tap and step dancing in the world. In particular, he is considered by many to be the wolrd's premier southern-Appalacian-style flatfooter. His extensive and varied repertoire includes Applachian flatfooting, rythm tap, Iriah step dancing, English clogging, Canadian step dancing and South African boot dancing.
"A Cultural Anthology in Himself" IRA BERNSTIEN is an internationally touring artist having performed in concerts and festivals all across the United States, as well as in England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, Holland, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Turkey, Israel, Poland, Hungary and Canada. He has shared the stage with many of the world's greatest tap and step dancers, including tap dancers Gregory Hines, Savoin lover, Charles "Honi" Coles, Chuck Green, Jimmy Slyde, Howard "Sandman" Sims and Brenda Bufaline, Irish step daners Donny Golden and Jean Butler, Canadian step dancers Benoit Bourque, Normand Legault, Harvery Beaton and John Pellerine, as well as with renowned ensembles such as the American Tap Dance Orchestra, the Jazz tap Ensemble, Manahattan Tap, Rhythm and shoes and Footworks.
"Effervescent Clogger-Tapper" IRA BERNSTEIN is a former member of the fiddle Puppets (currently called Footwroks), Marlboro Morris and Sword of Marlboro, the Mill creek Cloggers and the American Tap Dance Orchestra, and has been a guest soloist with Rythm in shoes and the Vanaver Caravan. He is also the director of the TEN TOE PERCUSSION ENSEMBLE, a collective of internationally acclaimed step dance soloists, and has repeatedly won first place in the Mount Airy Fiddler's Covention flatfooting competition. |
